I also like how the beautiful calypso red paintwork contrasts from the wheels as well, even though I'm a bit biased myself!! Paul |

No problem Bob, you'll probably find that the offset of his wheels will be lower than the wheels you put on. My mate ady has MV2 reps and his offset was ET38 on his e36. I think e46 wheels have a higher offset (about ET45-50) which would explain why the wheels sit so close to the suspension strut. If you get a chance it may be an idea to have a look for a stamp inside the alloy that should have the offset stamped in. HTH Paul Edited by e34silver530i |

Yeh but it's the wheel size & offset you need to gauge first. & of course then the tyre size. |

I have seen a compact driving our way with 18" MV2's on with no problems - and the car looked smart as well. Welcome to the forum by the way! Also, check this thread out - he has just put csl wheels on his compact and they look the mutts! Basically when anyone changes from the standard wheel to a larger wheel they should try & keep the overall diameter & rolling radius about the same as much as possible, within 2.5% either way is recommended. So, the higher the rim size, the lower the profile should be. Sounds like your 17s are a bit wide, & with a higher profile making them too large overall. You most likely also have wheels fitted that are the wrong offset. For example I went from 205/60/15 (originals) to 215/45/17, then eventually up to 225/40/18 & the difference was minimal. These were from a good dealer who made sure the offset etc was correct for the car. Try & find out your original wheel & tyre size (will be on the door pillar) & start from there. I dare say you could find a set of 18s that would fit, I can recommend these guys they have a good tyre size converter on there plus you can email them with any queries before hand. i would get the car modded but trying to find out what fits and dont fit like salon/compact/touring/coupe i dont know what fits what because not every bit fits every model i have seen compacts driving about with 18" alloys on them and i only got the 17" allys on and no more there is about (.....) this amount of room between the baseplate on the front strut and the tyre and the alloys are only 225/45/17 i dont understand it what could that mean ? Bob....

Bob the chrome surround between the lights and the mesh in the lower part of the bumper should be black. a nice touch to remove the bonnet badge. I'm a fan of the angel eyes and hate to see them partly covered and If you were ever to fit them you won't get the benefit cause of the upper eyebrow section of the front panel. I know they're pretty common place on cars now but I still like them (only on beemers of course) so would fit a set of M3 mirrors too this is just what I would do |
