[QUOTE=Mick525i]The Engine was from the Renault Alpine V6. /QUOTE]

That makes it sounds far more exotic than the engine from the Renault 30/Peugeot 604/Volvo 264!

My brother had a bit of a thing for the 30 and 604 in the '80's, around the time that we got the £2 gallon of juice, a scandalous petrol price which meant that it was hard to give them away.  There are still a few tucked away in a shed he own's....

Now: BMW 523i SE '00, 318i SE - e91 '07, 325i Coupe '93.

Prev:
e46 328i SE Touring, 330Ci, 318Ci.
e39 523i SE.
e36 325i Coupe *2, 323i SE, 316iSE.
e30 325iSE 2dr, 320i Conv, 320i 2dr, 316i.

A few guys have fitted Lotus V8 twin turbo engines into their DeLoreans.
Now that would be interesting.

I could go on for the day.

So many cars, so little money.

I have an itch for a DeLorean that just won't go away. I know it's a crap car, has a rubbish Renault engine (from the Fuego I think) and was built by old women with Uzi machine guns under their beds. I know it will be rubbish to drive and that people will laugh at me when it's broken down at the side of the road.

But just to have a stranger ask me to show them the Flux Capacitor will be enough to make it worthwhile.

The Engine was from the Renault Alpine V6.

Cheers

I'm guessing that the ferrari you're all talkin about is the same one! It was a rental car from a company in Ballsbridge/Donnybrook, Turns out a friend of mine now works for the guy who owned the company and he still has the car. Definatly not in good shape anymore!
It's been crashed more times than a touring car!
One of them being one of the guys that I used to work with in the car valeting co.
A bit of understeer and staight into a lampost

I should know better than to get involved in threads like this.

Thats because I feel my blood pressure rising at the mere thought of the worst car I ever owned.

I could fill reams of paper with its faults, its breakdowns, its absolutely superiority at being the worst motoring garbage I have ever had the misfortune to own.

Instead though, to save me from probably cardiac arrest, I shall just say it was an 02 plated Jaguar 2.5 V6 SE.

I feel ill.

Lukeduke, I owned a Mitsubishi FTO mivec, I sold it after 4 months, Not quick, uncomfortable and expensive to run. I did make £400 on it though but it was certainly my most dissapointing car

i rented the ferrari 348 from the company in ballsbridge back in 1995, few of my friends drove it too and we were all left gobsmacked  at how good it was to drive, and sounded sooo good, but put it this way i had it from 11am till 4/5 then my bro till 7then 3/4 friends till midnite then back to me till about 6am then back to my bro ,and i went all over the place including Newry, Naas ,Shankill,Navan but the best blast was in the Sallysgap Rounwood Blessington area.....and that was just me,so i can imagine the abuse it had before you guys got it

BTW the worst car i had was an opel calibra turbo...bought her when she was 4months old,god she was crap....but looked good

I got my Dad to rent the Ferrari 348 for one day back in 2000, I was grinning like a cheshire cat afterwards till I realised the €450 I put towards it was now gone... I never thought you could go 100mph on Griffith avenue till that day!

the most dissapointing car i ever bought was the Mitsibishi FTO 1.8 it was a total dissaster for me, when i first test drove it i liked it but after a few weeks in it i hated it, not quick enough and a really uncomfortable drive, the fto mivec 2.0 was a lot quicker and sounded great but still a big dissapointment for me!!!

Bloody valetors. You're only supposed to clean the car, not thrash it down the road. I'd do the same given the opportunity though.
