Rob, just to think we all ' hummed and ah'd' about viewing the Sunbury car. You took the risk and it paid off. Good on yer!!

If you've got it, a lorry brought it.

Fot those who don't know what 'Hiabboy' (what does
that mean??) and i are on about, a clapdoor Lincoln
is the car John F Kennedy was shot in. His was a
stretched convertible. The saloon version is the car
that was crushed in 'Goldfinger'. (anomaly; the one
seen driving is a black 1964, the one that's crushed
is an engineless dark grey 1963.
1961 - 4 speed auto, hydraulic central locking and
galvanised body. If I ever moved to the States, it's be
the first thing I'd buy on my way from the Airport.
Or a white E23 with red leather.

The mods will whip your butt for language!
the car is totally awesome - no rust, no dents, the type of e23 we dream of finding lurking on Fleabay but never do.
Makes mine look like rusty rubbish

I couldn't get the sport suspension from my dealer, but that's not to say they are not available, aftermarket? I don't think anybody stocks parts for these cars in this bracket. But your best bet would be to have a chat with Walloth und Nesch, as they could still get Bilstein shocks for the e23, but at a price.

This honey belongs to Rob, lucky chap, paid beer money for it, virtually a free car
I agree E23's ride way too high. Are BMW sport springs/shocks still available? if not does anyone still make sport susp. parts for E23? AG is the guru on this topic.
I put 16" E38 rims over 225/55 boots on my E23 - hides some of that excess ride height.

Isn't it strange nearly 20 years seperates the first of the 'clapdoor' 'continentals (1961) and the first of the e23s(1977), the continental still looks fresh and imposing with real presence where as the e23 looks very dated and ordinary.
