I have noticed the same problem on 2 occasions I am at Godfrey Hall BMW on Sat i will seek their advice and let you know

Hi,

we have a problem with the E39 front seats. It appears that the plastic surrounding (door side) seems to break very easily - around the seat adjustment levers.

Is this a common problem? Is there a quick fix or does it require lots of re-fitting?
