I feel for you, i sometimes find new scratches in my car but it's getting a little wheel arch rust too so I'm saving for a full re-spray. Even if you do go through the insurance, though it's a cheaper option now, your premium will rise. Damn idiots! I hope you find them! Mike |

90% of the scratch is very deep.
The rest of the car ain't brilliant either, the guy who had it before me had someone try and fix some bad spots but has made a hash of it. Has anyone tried the stuff that Halfords sell? |

If you comprehensive insurance vandalism should be
covered and remember insurance companies first question... have you told the police. |

HI Andrew Used my Megs 220 on the bonnet while I had a day off on Friday, clayed polished and waxed it too, so not as noticeable but as you said... one or 2 I could catch with a finger nail but the machine made it a damn sight better! Just dont want to have to respray right now if its not so bad!

If either of you two guys can catch a finger nail in the scratch then it is a re-spray job. If you cannot catch a finger nail in the scrath line then it can be polished out with a Machine polisher. I managed to polish out scratches (that were not deep enough to catch a finger nail) on my dads Vectra and my mates wifes Ka (women and parking never a good combination) with my Megs 220 machine with a compounding pad and Menz intensive polish. Even if you can catch a finger nail in the scratch, machine polishing will go along way to making it less obvious. If I had more polish (need to order more for this summer but not got round to it yet) I could offer my services for a liquid fee...... Andrew |

Some rather nice person decided to key my car from the
bonnet, wing, door, rear door and rear wing. Initially thought I would have this fixed myself but as time has went on I am thinking insurance claim..... Should I expect any problems with claiming this, or do I need vandalism cover? Insurance is also up in May, should I hold on, ensure I get vandalism cover and claim in a month or to? Don't like doing this, but its not like I did it myself. |
