As the low wide beam picks everthing out, nice for spotting wildlife just before it decides to run out on you.. Though I usually turn them off when there is any approaching traffic etc. |
Ohhhh yes been there done that.
Driving to Mallaig at 10.30 at night last October. Fogs on, full beam on and hammering along to get to my nightshift and me spots one of those 4 legged things with a large pair of horns standing at the side of the road with my fog beams! Time to ease off I think and be late!
On the way back a herd decides to cross in front of me near Glenfinnan. Ah well at least I know the BMW ABS works!
I hit one of those things a few years back in a hired Toyota Avensis (note the word hired, not mine!). Little thing about the size of Bambi decides to jump off the verge in front of me around one of the many sharp blind bends on the A82 up the side of Loch Lomond. No chance to stop. One new head light where its backside hit, one new grill where its head hit, new bumper, bonnet, wing, number plate, the list goes on. All in all £1500 worth of damage from a little deer.
