Erm... Not sure what to say to that. I've been attending club meetings since February, all the guys made me feel most welcome, for which I am very grateful. I have yet to produce my BMW or even firm proof that I own one, all they have seen are a series of photos (perhaps my bank statements would be more concrete evidence!). Regardless, I have turned up in my chevette and have been made as welcome as anyone else in their E24, 28, 34, 36, 39, 46, 60 etc etc. I have never met Lars personally, but having spoken to some of the other members at meets or overhearing conversations he is a part of the wider club, and just because he no longer owns a BMW doesn't mean we all drop him and ignore him. No offence meant or intended Toby, I just thought I'd make a point. Lars, I hope to meet you at a club meet some time in the near future. You can turn up on a motorised potato if you like, I know for a fact that everyone will make you feel most welcome. Always liked those Hyundai coupes myself, be nice to see one up close and personal. |

Oh yeah the guys are all really nice i have to totally agree there and if i had my choice my next car would have been a lovely 1998 E36 328i Sport with full M3 kit but it wont be this year |

Well enjoy the undoubted reliability you will receive from the Hyundai,
and put the usual repair money aside into a little jar so in three
years time you should have a nice sum to put towards a Beemer of some
sort. That is assuming you haven't fallen passionately in love with
Korean build quality and reliability!
Incidentally your sleeping pattern must be as screwed as mine. |

Cheers for that mate and no way i will fall in love with anything thats not German i have had 3 E30 325i's and they will not be my last BMW's i own i love the German build quality and looks and nothing says quality like that blue and silver badge i know i have tryed them all Rover, Volvo, VW, Mitsubishi etc and i always come back to my roots of the German ones, I should meet you at some of the gatherings this year as we are going to try to attend as many as possible as we have a really good milage allowance and if we dont use it some one gets the benifit when they buy the car when we hand it back so will meet up with you sometime and you can show me your much loved Vauxhall chevette Lars

I'm hoping to have the 525e along at the next Hawes meet, so I think if
I turn up after that in the chevette I may get questioned - by everyone
except Malc who has a strange fondness for my little chevette. Chevette
owners unite? Yeah! All ten of us.
If you can't make it along to the Hawes events then there is always the show n shine in Kircaldy, a bit of a trek I know but should be a good day out I hope - as long as the sun shines and the polish flows it will be great. Looking forward to receiving some prep tips from Pete as he always manages to have his car looking immaculate regardless of the weather. I wonder would a clay bar remove rusty wheel arches? |
