E34 540i changing to manual + lsd

   Hello,

On a e34 (1994), supposedly a sport, but to me an ordinary 540i auto, will it have an LSD?

Also what manual box would be bst to use to convert to manual, will a 535i one fit?

	Hi, why do you think yours is a Sport mate? All the 540's have the Mtec suspension but thats it, it has E\Traction but no LSD. You'll have to have the 6 speed box because of the V8's Bellhousing mounts & the prop is bigger than the 535's . As far as the LSD goes I'm about to fit a LSD Diff from a M5 into my Manual 540 which will also give it a shorter ratio so more OOMPH off the mark but less top end . Good luck , but these manual boxes are expensive to buy, probably better off selling your Auto & look out for a nice Manual rather than try & change it??
