Went up to Elgin today to have the car remapped by Phil (PM9575)
Really nice place he has up there, & I was welcomed by Phil, ace bloke, & a nice cup of coffee made by the lovely Mrs.Phil, sorry Phil, I never actaully got her name!
So, after a wee mishap on the way into the garage involving my nearside mirror & the door post lol, (was too busy looking at all the cleaning goodies) we got down to business.
After the remap was complete, he asked me to take the car for wee run to see what i thought, but unfortunately there was some kind of "Tour de Moray" going on, cycles everywhere on both sides of the road, but i managed to get a wee blast in between them all ![](smileys/biggrin1.gif)
First impressions are, it sounds a wee bit different on idle, it most definitely pulls a lot harder, right through the rev range, flat spots are gone, less need to drop a gear & just feels a whole lot more responsive, & even, dare I say it, safer.![](smileys/Approve.gif)
This was proved on the way home as i passed a few of the flat cap Renault & Corsa brigade, (all with their 40 - 45mph limiters on
) & passed them with real ease & confidence. I also noticed the MPG gauge was reading more favourably.
All in all, a great job done, it was a pleasure driving home & I'm sure I will notice even more good things as I drive more.
Big thanks to Phil, Mrs.Phil, & Jayson (chippeduk) for a fast & friendly service, anyone thinking of getting this done, don't think about it, just do it, save up if you have to, but do it.
Hope to see you again at a meet some time Phil. ![](smileys/beerchug.gif)
