This forum is always very quiet. There can't be many people in the NE who own BMW's. I was thinking of joining the club this year, as soon as my finances have recovered from christmas. Are there many events organised in our region? Steve, I see from your profile that you are also into heavy metal. Which bands do you like? older stuff like Maiden, Metallica etc or new stuff like Korn, Slipknot ect. I have to say most BM's that I see have dance music pumping out, and I get a few strange looks from passers buy when I drive past with Machine head blasting out at full volume.

Keep an eye on http://www.bmwcarclubgb.co.uk/regions/ne/noreast.html and get in touch with the region contact(s) - it can be the case that very few of a region's members use the forum...

Peter;
Pretty much any metal from NWOBHM to present. Saw Metallica at Earls Court recently.Awesome!!!Godsmack supported, but we missed them,as we took an unexpected detour (don't ask.... my ears are still ringing from the arguement that followed!!) Somehow people don't think metal and BMW sit well with each other (strange people!!) |

There is a club events organisers meeting next week. Around the 15th or 16th of January you can see them on the club events list
However, it would be nice if when we have spent all the time organising events if some of you could come along to them. Two events from 12 last year saw only me and the wife turning up. Below is a list of proposals for 2004 - if you have any ideas then please either post them or PM me with them - all sensible items considered. Possible Events for North East 1. Tulip Rally is a must I think. 2. Family day out at same venue as last year. 3. Dealer Visit / mini Concours at Scotthall BMW when they open their new showroom 4. Canal trip at Slaithwaite and boat in the tunnel. 5. Skidpan training at the Seven Sisters Wigan - unless there is a skid pan in our region. 6. BBQ at someone's house if we can find a suitable volunteer. 7. A few natters and noggins |

I've not been to the forum in ages since I moved house. Use internet very rarely now. I still remeber Metallica from Donnington can't remeber if it was 91 or 92 (AC/DC headlined) not struck on new album... (though didn't have a car then so can't comment on metal/BMW).
Discovered my first car now resides in a scrap yard (316i B reg) was a bit sad when I saw two red doors leaning against a pile of scrap, ah well. |

hmm, shall I make a BMW CC Rockers Forum? I saw Metallica in Dublin a few months ago - this was my 5th(?) time seeing them and I must say that it was crap (just like their new album). In saying that, I am after downloading a song by Metallica / Primus just now and its great! I know that they will be coming back here this summer but I think I'll spend the 60 on something worthwhile. |

Don't blame you, I bought new album and listened to it only once, chucked it in a cupboard and got master of puppets out (on vinyl) instead. A lot better.. so that was nice.

I have not really liked anything Metallica has done since 'And Justice for all'. Has to be said 'Master of Puppets' is the best one they ever did, an all time classic.

Gentlemen There are a number of police skid pans throughout the country. With our tie-up with the IAM we may be able to get access to these. All IAM full members (youve passed the test) have access, but there is also a facility for members to take "guests". Would you like me to ask the question of the IAM ? |
