What are folks feelings on this? Would it be worth adding a forum for (BMW) Mini owners? BMWCC Scottish Region had a joint meet with Mini owners and they were a good bunch...

Agree 100% as i have a mate who has a Mini Cooper "S" , He had wanted a Z3 but bought a Mini so his wife could also drive a "Shared " car . He "compromised " by buying a Mini on the pretext " It has a B.M.W engine & you go to B.M.W dealer to get it serviced " He also wants to get involved in club events but feels " its not a B.M " & people who don't know the association with B.M.W may think " What is a Mini doing on a B.M.W stand ? " Your views please ????

I'd let them in. But they'd have to agree to certain rules. Like cleaning the BMW cars at events. And cleaning BMW drivers shoes if they get mucky at shows. And they should bow when in the presence of a BMW owner. Seriously though I think it would be nice to have a Mini tech forum and just let them use the regional forums like everyone else. |

Agree sounds like good idea, at risk of sounding perdantic, whatever that means, It has a Brazilian Damler Chrysler engine at the moment |

If we have a Mini forum...will we be having a Rolls Royce forum too? There is no difference. They're totally different brands to BMW and completely seperate entities from each other. The other thing is...the web is swamped with well established Mini forums. They're just about the most popular car forum out there! Edited by Coasting |

I agree. I have nothing against Mini owners (although I fooking hate Minis!! ) but there are already plenty of dedicated forums out there. Why would they want to join our forum, although it is the best bar none!! |

It could be possibility I guess - I think it would be dependant on how much use it would receive and also would it be appropriate for a BMW forum since it is marketed as MINI (non-BMW) I think it all goes back to BMW buying Rover out and taking control of the Mini name and using Range Rover for the development of the X5 (Land Rover 2.5 TDi units are BMW powered). This said, can Mini be actualy called a BMW? Mini has it's own heritage. |

TBH Mini2.com is the biggest Mini site around, no real need for a sub-forum here, but Mini Members should be allowed!

The X Forum is lightly used and there is no Z Forum either. How about a "MINI, X, Z and others" Forum? |
