90% sure I'll have the evo. However I spun it not so long ago and as a result have to replace the passenger wing, door and s/skirt.
The damage is not bad but I just want it back 100% hence replacing the panels |

IanH, Ger is not available.
Eamo, it may be better to get your panels repaired as new wings and doors never seem perfect. Futhermore, a door rebuild never seems to get the seals in the right positions! |

Original parts and a good bodyshop should give perfect results. Pattern parts are another matter.

Killian, Brendan,
Do crash helmets have to comply with any specific safety standard? |

I think for our purpose a standard road-use motorcycle helmet is fine. I know that for car racing a nomex* lining in the helmet is recommended in case the driver goes unconcious in a burning car. Something like this however is unlikely in BMWCCGB track day as the fuel tank in not inside the car. If you are thinking of getting yourself one then don't buy 2nd hand as it is a very false economy - you don't know if it has ever been stressed. If a helmet ever got a bad knock (e.g. in an accident) then it should be thrown out. In terms of keeping Mondello happy for a track day - there is no strict regulation there and I don't believe they will check it for safety flaws. Will probably look for a reasonably price new helmet.

Look forward to being there, will be posting my application this week. I think I'll need to pay attention during the instructions wrt overtaking, since my driving is usually at a more leisurely pace than others
Don't want to be holding up you other guys. |

The rule is that overtaking is done on the left by consensus - the person being overtaken indicates, moves right and back off the gas for a while to let the other car through.
I wouldn't worry too much about holding people up. We hope to have the groups fairly equally paced (again). The course is fairly easy to learn too - so you will gain confidence in the corners. Grab one of the instructors early who will show you the ropes. Those who are lapping other constantly may be moved up a group (as it's frustrating for both the overtaken and the overtaker). |

Looking forward to my first event with the club - spectator unfortunately, as I don't think my 86 325 would appreciate a couple of trips around the circuit.
