I've just bought a 1.43 E39 model car, but
the interior is beige, whereas mine is black. Does anyone
know where to get a decent, larger size diecast of these
motors?

Try Wonderland Models on Lothian Road in Edinburgh.

Failing that then it's a t'interweb search.

Not 100% on topic, but how cool is this.... A friend of mine was looking for a diecast model of his car. He has a totally mint mk1 Ford Capri in lime green with a black vinal roof, quite a rare car so he looked high and low for a model as close as he could get it or he was going to get one made.

He went into a model shop who specialise in just model vehicles, all the old dinky, corgi, matchbox, burago etc...etc then, low and behold he saw his exact car in a (I think it was corgi) box with his exact registration!!  it turns out, corgi must have seen his car when it had just been registered all those years ago and used it as the car they wanted to replicate! How cool is that!

Incidentally, if the model shop still exists, it's in windsor near the castle. I have been in there many times over the years and there isn't a lot they don't do so perhaps they are worth a try?

Some years ago, Pauls Model Art did a 1/24 model of an E39 saloon with right hand drive. My model has a silver exterior with black inside. Have not seen one for some time so it may be out of production.

Old Boys Toys.

Sadly I've been told it's closed down. Always made a point of calling in when I was down in Windsor.

I've managed to pick up a 1/18 Ford Capri Mk 1 in red with a satin black bonnet just like my old '72 2000GT. Wheels are the earlier Rostyles though.

Also have a 1/18 '71 Opel Manta in green. My '75 was black (originally mid-blue) which I had resprayed Ford Cobalt Blue. I've considered repainting my model in BMW Avus Blue which is very similar.

I can't believe that shop ever closed! It was a little boys and big boys aladdins cave! I used to visit if ever I passed the place in jaw dropping awe of all the great models they had of all the cars I ever wanted. That's a real shame, I've never seen another shop like it since.
