Rolls of tint for windows. I need some advice here folks and it might sound a bit odd to start with! I’m having my bathroom done just now. The shower doors we really wanted were smoked glass but they only came in a size that was too big for the gap where our shower is to be so we’re having the same style but in clear glass. I’d like to smoke them! My question are; If I bought the stuff that’s used for tinting car windows what is the end result going to be? How badly would it be affected by the steam? Think misted up windows! Has anyone used a particular make that was easy to fit and gave good results? |

I have no idea how this will work but I would be concerned the steam will affect the adhesion of the film! I got a glazer to attach mirror finish to my bathroom window so I can see out but no one can see in (Bathrooms looks out onto fields so wanted to have the view when having a p ) It worked really well but the wondow never some in to contact with water or much steam!

I don't see a real problem there, when you consider how much temperature changes & condensation etc that our windows are subject to in this country, I would however speak to an automotive tinting specialist for sure advice

The film is fitted to the glass wet and then then squeegeed flat .... the only problem you will get is you couldnt clean the window then with normal household products. You would have to use a product like the stuff to clean LCD screens etc that doesnt have a certain chemical in it that would eat the film. Spoke to the guy at AutoTint here in Fife, who told me the above. Cheers, hope it helps |
