I'd question that. (I dont wanna get into a huge debate about it) I'd agree if the screen was only a monitor that doesn't have a receiver in it otherwise I'd be able to say that my 50" Sony TV was only ever used to play "Big Mutha Truckers II" on my Xbox. but it has the capability of receiving TV broadcasts.

You are correct Cambell. If it is capable of receiving a TV signal it is liable for a licence

Thanks.
As i said. If you use any of the above devices to watch or record live television broadcasts you need a licence.
The underlined bit is key. You do not need a licence to own the equipment. Nor do you need a licence to use any of the devices listed for purposes other than to watch or record live television broadcasts.

The same nice men who have no right to enter your property and you are under no obligation to answer any of their questions you mean?
Have a look on you tube for bbc licencing goons. There are countless videos of those clowns turning up at peoples door and having their backside handed to them by clued up householders.
For the record i have a licence as i'm not at home a lot and it wouldn't be fair on Gillian or either of our mums to deal with the licence goons at the door.
If i knew 15 years ago what i know now though i'd be like a good mate of mine, who at 43 has had his own place since he was 19 and in the intervening 24 years has contributed exactly 0 pence towards a licence fee.

I'm sure you have a licence and all that.
As for your mate, its people like that who have ruined the BBC for people like me. If he'd fulfilled his legal and moral duty and paid his licence, Jeremy and crew would be going over Africa in Koenigseggs !!

Theres a few videos on you tube that tell you how to opt out from paying for the tv license. I watched one before Christmas and was chuckling at the old boy talking to the beeb telling them he didn't grant them right of access.
This bans them from trying to gain access to your property and if they do you can call the police and have the guy done for harassment. Sweet Handy for the tight fifers |

correct me if I'm wrong but I assume the title "New Top Gear" is referring to the new series/episodes and not a new program format. We all know that the Top Gear of 10yrs ago is the same as it is today, that's where I have the problem with it. They're doing the same old routine as they've always done and it's long past it's sell by date Right now that that's dealt with let's get back off topic |

Pitsy, this might be controversial and some may not agree with me but even your ramblings are more entertaining than 5th gear |
