Get that camera out man and stop torturing us.
Stack dash
Are you coming to Gaydon with the car?
One off my friends in Germany owns a nice 02 as well.
M3 bottom end with 8 Valve head. Wide arches and low.
All the suspension pick up points have been moved to get the geometrie back to spec. It's a former hill climber.
I had a go with it when I visited him last time.
Fantastic! Your car must pull like a train with that 2.5 lump.
I think his car will be for sale soon as he is running out of room for all his other toy's (2 and 4 wheels) Anybody interessted?
BTW if you can't post the pic's send them to me and I will put them up.

Uwe, i'll get some pics of my dash and get them posted via Duncan or yourself
I fitted a Stack dash primarily to get round the speedo problem because I have a M3 box fitted that has no provision for a cable drive. Plus, I liked all the other engine parameters it provides - oil temp, water temp, oil press, battery voltage, speed (mph & km/h), shift light function and user defined alarms......Pretty neat piece of equipment.
Unfortuntely I will not make it to Gaydon due to work......it's a pity - would have loved to have brought the car down (i'm in Scotland)
Car goes really well with the 2.5L - have been speaking to John at Maxx re a AN - should go even better with that.
The gearing helps the performance as well - I run a 3.64 diff - that ratio allows 135MPH on the rev limiter (7300) in 5th gear

Bloody hell, that must fly with a 3.64 in the car. I've always like 2002's.
I sure the Maxx with free up a few more ponies and give you much better throttle response.

Yip thats exactly what i'm after - but won't have room for the CF airbox - will need to make do with the standard one - it's tight enough under the bonnet !! - plus, a little more induction noise will be nice as well !!
Have read a lot about the AN - definitely seems a worthwhile mod.

MAXX manufacturer's name is Martin as well (just in case we get confused here ) He is very helpful and knows his stuff. I think M3Pilot will agree that MAXX's customer support is second to non. 2002SportEVO, when are you planning to buy a MAXX?

Plenty of guy run the Maxx without a CF airbox, and either butcher the standard airbox and run a pipe out the back, or rig up some sort of cone filter that fit's on a pipe direct to the plenum. The main this is to get rid of the AFM.
As Uwe said, the Maxx guys are great and very helpful.

I've taken some more pics of the car last night (interior ones for Uwe as requested) and sent them to Webdunk for him to post on the Scottish site - that way i can link them to the forum.
Uwe, thinking about a Maxx fairly soon - was e-mailing John last week but have not had a reply from him.
I will post a pic of my AFM set up - you will see that i already run a cone filter onto the AFM - converting to AN would involve a straight section of pipe from the plenum to the filter - fairly simple.

Stunning!
How long did it take you to get there?
If John doesn't respond, contact Martin directly
mschoefl(et)maxxautomotive.de and mention my name.
I have already spoken to him about your setup. He drives an 2002 with 2.5 lump as well. Not as nice as yours. His one seems to be a more a "form follows function" approach.

Uwe
The car has evolved over a number of years - lots of time and money.....The car has been in the family since 1978 - I grew up with the car.....have a close attachment to it - doesn't stop me driving it hard though After all, thats why i built it like that.
Has had the s14 installed since 1995 - still finding things to modify / change - never ends !! Now the AN !! Think it's the way to go.
I'll have a word with Martin - wouldn't mind seeing some pics of his car - does he have AN on his 02 ?
Forgot to mention - has Leda coil overs, AP 4 pots and an adjustable pedal box as well.....
