I know TBMW managed to buy a £50 special but that was a magazine. Never thought you could do it for real.

However last week I spotted a 1987 316 on a forecourt for £95. Drove it away for £50.. 4 good tyres, new backbox and various other new bits. Even if it doesn't pass an MOT it will give my own E30 some valuable spares.

Putting in for MOT this week - will let you know what happens if anybody is interested...

The red 316 from ebay was sold for £181 but to whom. This was a very early car with chassis number 119. Let's hope it will be saved.

Mike

Seems to good to be true these cheap E30s. I am a bit skint at the moment but would have bid for that one on ebay. We will have to keep buying them just to stop them going to the scrapy. In a few years they will be worth a few bob.

Yes, the cheap ones will more than likely be sacrificed to keep other E30s on the road. A work colleage of mine was offered an E30 touring that was same colour as his, but had a blown engine for EUR400. He was very tempted. When you consider the cost of spare parts, it probably makes sense to get one for spares. Thats of course assuming your better half will be understanding enough to have another E30 in the drive that will probably never move from where its parked

I tried bidding for that one on ebay last week, i was out bid in the last few moments! I know people who have spoken to the winning bidder, he has promised not to split it, but keep it on the road. It will be the UK's earliest E30 ! built Dec '82.

Apperently it was built on the first day of the RHD production run!

For your information, it was a 320i Auto, not a 316, unless i have missed another one on ebay

I'm chopping in my E36 328i Sport for a cheap E30 in the new year (so i can afford to move out of home). Always wanted one. Will only have £1k v.max to spend though. What do you guys reckon i could get?

I'm acctually really excited about it as an E30 was a childhood dream car!!!!

First of I would love to save that 320 but just cant it afford at the moment. Dont think her indoors would like it, she gets enough of BMWs. Perhaps i could buy an E30 registration eh Mark! does she know yet?

Matt
I think you will want a 325i as you will be going from an E36 328 a 318 will seem very slow. You could try for a 318iS but you will need more than 1k. The 325 Tourings seem to be a bargain at the moment.
Wellcome Slondike to the register whats your car?

I just need a car for £1k or less and want it to be an E30. Kinda resigned to the fact it will be slow, but i tonly has too get to work. Later on i might get somethign newere and quicker again and fiddle witht eh E30 as a bit of a project car.

Ron, we met briefly at Gaydon.  Mine is a 1990 325i Sport in Brilliant red with Black Leather, 88K and is my pride and joy which is currently garaged and coming out when the weather is nice....
