Hi
You can not chip an e21 as they are mechanicla injection.
Faster is possible, easy route bigger swap to efi and put in a 2.5 from a later e30. Then it is onto big engien builds, mine is a 2.7 with tripple webbers ported head and shrick cam about 250BHP. But yoy would also want to upgrade the suspension adn brakes.

Whether modifying it will spoil it is a subjective point. I would say no, go for it, but purists would disagree.
At the end of the day it's your car. If you want to make it faster go for it!

on this car a simple mod like the ported throttle body would help and keep the car standard looking.
mods like this a perfect for the stealth look.
you can get them from alpina527@aol.com

Should be able to add and extra 50hp no problem with a single injector nitrous system and 100hp with multi-point injection and a controller.

not really, these engines normally need a 75 shot to get things going.
its very wierd as a 50 shot on bmws often gives no realy feel of improvement whereas a 75 shot will make it seem like all hell has broke loose (well not quite but it is very noticable)

Don't know which cars you've tried, but a 25 shot made quite a huge difference to a 318is auto. He's now running a 50 shot and is coming back next week to have a controller fitted and re-jetted to 75.
Guess it depends on how it's been set up.

So if a 50 shot of Nitrous isnt much noticeable , a TB on its own isnt going to offer naff all....??

wizzards kits.
brybusa, its not about the amount of air like the throttle body, its about the lack of extra power from such a small shot of gas on a 6 pot engine.
im not knocking gas for a second, i have run it in many cars, the point is that on a 6 pot you need more gas to feel it happen.

Can't quite get your logic there, 25hp to a car with 135hp is still a gain whether they have 4 or 6 cylinders.
Is the torque outpur worse on the 6 or is it significantly heavier or something?

Wizards too.
Certainly with the 6 it would be better to go for direct port injection to give better distribution.
