Well lads, to say that I am completely miserable is an understatement. I have put put my baby up on carzone.ie.

Things are changing with work and its looking like that more time may be spent driving around this wonderful little island of ours and I have come to the conclusion that to destroy the M with that sort of abuse makes no sense whatsoever.  The run to Tuam during the week made me cringe so many times that it pushed me over the edge.

So there you go, I'll wait and see what happens now, I have spent a lot on her getting her virtually 100% and to wreck it makes me want to puke.  This is a decision with the head and not the heart and I am absolutely gutted but its the smart thing to do at the end of the day.

Many of you know her at this stage so if you know someone that wants a very special machine send me a PM.  I will have a detailed pdf available with the original BMW order details and whats been done to her available to download later on.

Maybe no-one will buy her and I'll be stuck with her - force me to find another solution and keep my baby.

Pardon me while I go drown my sorrows!!!

Dude, i'm very sorry to see it leave the hands of such a caring owner. Hopefully it will find another true enthusiast. It really is a pristine EVO and we'll miss the sight of such a rare one at the meets.

I've known this car from 12 months old.  If anyone does have an interest you won't find a more genuinely unmolested and unabused example.

Martin - really sorry to hear about this.

I'm totally depressed but to run this car around Ireland for the next 12 months and put 20k plus miles of crap roads doesn't make sense.  She is coming up on 10 years old and it is a phenomenal car but at that age it needs more TLC than something ordinary and I can't bring myself to batter it to a pulp.

I have all the details up there in pdf for any interested party to download. The plan is to give it 4 weeks and if it sells at the price fine, if it doesn't, then she stays and I have to find another option.

Looking at a 2 wheeler for the office commute and a (stellar mileage) diesel to hammer around the country. The sad thing is that I can insure, tax and service those two for the cost of the tax and insurance on the M.

I am not happy about this but the costs of motoring in this country are just insane and then the maintenance due to state of the roads is criminal.  I reckon we should be charging the government road tax to cover the wear and tear on the cars instead of paying them!!!

For anyone that has a regular decent spin to work on some good roads then this is the car for them, gauranteed to get you there with a smile on your face.

The car had more than £15k worth of options from the factory, the price here would have been heading for £75k in 1996.

Cheap, mint, supercar.

Sadly - not really at the moment with what I've done she stands me around 19k.  I think 16 is a fair price and I will keep her rather than give her away.

Actually - pass the razor blade and I'll slit my wrists!!

Maybe I should sell the 5, the house, the kids, the business????

Use the 5 for work instead?  Or maybe someone can source you a relatively cheap diesel?

Martin, no, dont do it

I thought about selling mine as you know, but i can't see a viable alternative!

Obviously you do alot of mileage, but there is no better way than an M to tour around in!

Diesel.........never.

I bought a very reliable, fairly tidy 2ltr Nissan Primera for 250 quid, i use it alot as i was piling the miles on the BM. If you have spent 19k on the ///M then keep her, get some money back from it. Get a cheap run about, there are plenty of good ones.

You're asking for too little! how is the mileage? that's the price they are going at in france so I would think you could get 2 or 3k extra?!

Martin

Sorry to hear you have to let her go She really looked incredable at Man of War the other night

Would you not pick up a smoker for a couple of grand and put your baby in mothballs until work sorts itself out.

It will be very hard to replace.
