.  .  .  that's the question.

Took the old ones off for a bit of a touch up & I don't know whether to put the new ones back on.

What do you think?

IMHO I think it looks better without, Stripes will probably distract the viewer from the real elegance of the car.

Normally I'd say 'with' but yours looks good without.

Unless you were going to clear coat over them, you can always decide later anyway.

cheers

The old stripes were so faded you could barely see them.

This was the day I picked it up - complete with polished TRX's!

You can hardly see the stripes here. . .

A closer view . . .

The originals had a broad dark (purple?) stripe on top & a narrow orangey one below.  I've managed to get replicas but I wouldn't attempt to put them on myself.

I'm veering towards leaving them off.

Fella that car of yours is gorgous, BMW certainly don`t make cars of that caliber anymore, i personaly think it looks great without the stripes, infact i think it looks great period... but i would not be putting them back on if i owned it.

You must be well proud to own such a beautiful car.(i know i would be)

Andy, leave them off mate.

To those that comment on how gorgeous the car is - you're spot on and it looks even nicer in the flesh.

It needs absolutely nothing more on it, be they original or not.

Andy,

Out of curiosity, how did you get your stripes off?

The bodyshop made a right dogs dinner of mine last year so I've been toying with removing them for a while.

Use a hairdrier to soften the glue. Be sparing with the heat!

I left mine sitting in hot sun. Then use bug & tar remover to get the residue off.

Stripes were optional equipment. Somewhere in my documentation files I have the full set of available stripe colours that were available for 635s. Both mine have stripes.

I would leave them off.
