The E46 M3 IMO should not have gone out and was on brand new road tyres and was messing. I believe he asked for something to happen. |

Leaving the girls behind (ahem) for a minute, Ger and Eamo, shut it!
Kin, Richie, Niall and others have tried to pull you two apart. Kiss and make up or use the PM to continue this. If you want to fight in public then do it in the paddock in Mondello and let us put a few bets in. |

Good Morning Another tip if Mondello management has the cones out. Use them they are placed by people who know what they are doing. sonme corners may have 3 cones 1 Braking point 2 Turn in point 3 Apex The braking place is placed to be safe for all cars. so cars with better braking may be able to leave braking later, but not too much The turn in point always seems very late to newcomers, but resist the tempation to turn in early as you will get the apex wrong The Apex (clipping point) This is the one AND ONLY point where the car gets near the inside kerb. After the Apex you start staightening the steering and feeding in the power. Comments If are spending a long time on the inside kerb you have turned in too soon. I really mean feed in the power gradually, don't slap the pedal to the floor. This may have been the reason why people have spun to the inside of bends Comments on specific bends to follow (breakfast is ready) Edited by gjoconnor92 |

Look, fellas, maybe its a sat. morning and i'm tired... but ger and eamo need to give it a break. At the very least make a thread called "fight club" or something, and then we'll all have a choice as to when and where we read your bitch-slapping. And dave you need to stop inciting them!!!
This may blow up in my face. Paul |

You're right on all but one thing Paul - I wasn't trying to exacerbate the situation! Sorry if it came across that way; it must be my warped sense of humour!

Breakfast eaten The first bend now called Honda (Traditionally named Shell). Late apex and as soon as you have stopped drifting out to the left get to the right side of the track to straighten out Stena Line (Trad. name BOAC). Honda is usually 2nd gear and Stena a short shift into 3rd before the bend. Please don't change gear when taking a bend. Turn Three (trad. Duckhams) This is a double apex bend. the first part a very brief tap on the brakes to settle the car and back on the power. Straighten up and aim for the big trees. Brake to the left side turn in. Don't be tempted to turn in early. Holiday in Ireland. Difficult bend! I personally brake to the middle of the track take the first part in the middle of the track then go for a very late apex. Lola (Parabolica) Fast bend. If you take off too much speed you end not getting the car to move out to the left on the exit. I was turning in too late the last time making it too tight. Use the cones if they are there. Daly's Drift Blind flat to the mat crest. Turn 7A and Turn 7B (Tarzan 1 &2) 7A Get turn in correct and drift out to the outside kerb. Straighten for a couple of yards then turn in for 7B. This straighten is vital to settle the car, the loads can be too great if you try and make one bend out of 7A and 7B Birrane's Bends (The Complex) Take the right hand part slow and keep to the right and left hander will be flat to the mat or near it. MG I found this difficult at the last BDD with the car understeering like mad. If anyone has any comments on this bend I would appreciate hearing them. Bike World fast bend with apex over kerbs careful! Pick your turn in point caerfully and this bend will be fun Dunlop (Dunlop) Brake deep into the corner very late turn in and very very late apex. If you do this you will have no problems getting the power down onto the straight. If anyone has any improvements on my personal comments let me know. This forum is all about pooling knowledge. |

Re MG bend: I did the PDC a few times and was told that to approach
this you exit Birranes Bends keeping on the right side of the track so
that you can be approaching MG in 4th. I think there was a cone at the
turn point and when you turn you make a fairly hard turn towards the
apex and exit on track-left before heading right for the approach to
'Bikeworld'.
Bikeworld was one I found trickyish because there was a load of gravel on the track and if you got the line wrong you were on it. It is also misleading as it is fast but kind of blind. I think it was Fey who spun there last year with me and two other cars right behind him. Scary moment! |

You hit 4th? I don't think I got out of 2nd all day!
That was Digweed (the other balck e39 on the day) - I was in the line of traffic avoiding him! I didn't spin, but drove into the gravel between 7a and 7b when my clutch went - I didn't want to stop the session by causing an obstruction on the course. |

Yes, I've had it for 15 years, I've got a good story about its origins, but it's too long for here. Off the road 6 years ago when rear turret failed due to a combination of corrosion and towing a dive boat to the West too many times. Replaced rear right turret last Christmas, left one was perfect. The car is a lot more settled than wife's E30 316, moving the battery to the boot made more difference than I expected, and the Yokohamas help. No power steering , I'm pretty good at arm wrestling. I found the last track day is great for finding how good it is. But it might still frighten a FWD man. Especially when it's wet. Sean
