I might be up for this... is this for Club members only? I am a member, just wonder cuz I know another M5 owner but I don't know if he is a mamber.

Ecomony run? Can we divide the milage by the litre of the car? Don't think I my 11mpg beast is going to be great. Maybe someone will tow me?

Try free-wheeling!

There will be a handicapping system that might help!  On the otherhand, you could concentrate on the Treasure Hunt!  Yeah, ... that might be best!

Kin - any BMW is more than welcome to come along and see what anoraks we in the club are!
WRT economy, I don't think that is the main focus on everyones mind. The first one we had two years ago was brilliant and whilst I had no navigator and had to read all directions whilst on the move I still came home 1st.
With an M5 you might be able to do this!

And the rest of us wont need a map, we'll just listen out for the bellow of the v8. In the interest of fairness, i'm sure Ger and Dergside will have a fair handicap for you as regards economy, although it probably wont be of interest to you. Hopefully, I wont get as lost this time as I did on the Midland run. Have a better navigator this time (dont tell the Missus).

Adrian, when you got lost last year, wasn't it in your own locality?

Yeah, I thought I was being clever, when I said to the missus, "I know what route they are taking back to Portlaoise". Didn't study the directions though. You are definetly better off not knowing an area, and sticking to what is on the map. Incidentally, I took the wrong road, 4 miles from my house

Dont worry Ludo, i'll definetly be behind you, so i'll pick it up . I cant guarantee that I wont run it over though, so you mightn't get the same performance next time. The last one I was at was great craic even though I ended up in a farmers yard at one stage . I'm sure my navigator will have me on the right track this time. It's not worth risking my marriage over it.

Very gentle route this year. No mad over the mountain stuff. Good Surface on whole route. I did not find any potholes when driving the route last weekend. The Humpback bridges are cautioned on the road book, so no problems if you show care (none are like the Canal bridges in Co. Kildare!). There are some nice flowing roads on the route and the final run home is on the Limerick By pass. I had a nice meal at the Shannon House last Saturday and the Flying Boat Museum is expecting us.

Also the Monaco F1 is on. Hope you all have fun and I will see you at the next meet.

Ludo; if you didn't lose your exhaust on the way to Mondello the last time, you'll never lose it!!!

Fey: I think so too!

Little problem though, co pilot det me down, is it doable on my own?

I'll come down anyway, GF is working on her exams, not a bad thing to be out of the house for few hours!

Ludo

It is doable on your own but a little bit more difficult.  There may be a "spare" person in another car that could do notes with you.

Well GF's coming after all so looks like I have a passenger (I wouldn't go as far as saying co-pilot, some bad experiences on the french roads last summer; sparks won't be coming from the exhaust this time) !
