E34 535 sport- seen as low as 12.9 around town..On a run 25MPG
19MPG at a steady 100MPH
Average for the week always works out as 21-22MPG
How accurate are these OBC?

Reset 1 of the consumption meters and got 38.2 going to work last night,not driving it any different to the way I normally do.Alot lot less coming home in the wee hours of this morning  .What did I say about a diesel being my next car lol.Might give it a good run up the motorway and see if I can get 40 out of a 3.2
As for the OBC I found mine to only be about 1mpg out when I've worked it out after a fill up.

Well, I did a 130 mile round trip recently - a mixture of motorway, and "B" roads. I sat at the legal limit whenever I could (traffic permitting), and averaged ... 53.4 mpg!

My e23 obc Say's 21 mpg as an average on the obc the 318 e30 touring I had would do 32mpg on a run

I have to admit I had been considering a Diesel E46 BM when I next change the car. However I came to the conclusion that it wasn't worth it. They do get much better MPG than the equivalent petrol version but they also hold ther value much better. Unless you do a huge milage it will take years before you get back the extra cost of buying it over a petrol model. Just look at the premium you pay for a 330d over a 330 petrol.
The E36 325TDS dosen't seem to hold such a premium over the other E36s

the tds doesnt hold any value in the e36 range ...they dont shift on forecourts .and they dont seem at all desirable by the buying public.but surprisingly they seem to fetch a tad bit more at trade auctions over 318 s but there price faulters at 320 or 6 cylinders above models ...try buying a 328 e36 at auction ..its a nightmare because the prices are way high ..

Really!
I'm going to bee keeping mine for a bit longer now anyway but it's always nice to know. I had noticed that 328s command a reasonable ammount more than an equivalent 323.
I guess the 325TDS was never very desirable.
The same cannot be said for the 320 and 330 diesels however.

330 diesels ...hold there £££ very well because they are favored by mid management who do a lot of miles ..even high mile cars go through the auctions at a very good price
a 330 oil burners will sell allday and everyday
a 316 will go for pence a 328 will allways go for pounds .....so keep yours peter

My 540 manual on Lpg with a Romano Type "N"system averages 58mpg thats mainly mixed driving Average miles per week is 193-210 ish & costs usually between 11.50p - 12.80p to fill up each week.
If I do go on long journeys Its around 61 - 64Mpg at a staedy 80+
On petrol Sainsburys Super U\Leaded I get about 28 - 30 Mpg at steady 80mph never been in town on petrol for long but when i 1st had the car it used to be around 17- 22 mpg

E31 840Csi 1997 between 80-90mph get 29.8 mp on motorways. Around town 18-19 ish. No room to put Lpg in dont think, although at £70/wk it is an interesting thought.
Having had a Ford Focus TDCI until I binned company cars I dont care
