Alan , try going up through Wishaw onto the A71 out past Shotts, turn left at Briech onto the A706 , follow to Linlithgow ,Right onto A803 the high street , stay on that untill a right turn onto the A904 which takes you right along to the roundabout at the Forth road bridge .

A much more fun route and keeps you clear of the road works between the A8 and South Queensferry
