Any 630CS cars left in the U.K. ??

Dear All,

The BMW 630CS is the only carburetted version of the 6-series and was

built only from 1976 till/incl 1979 to be replaced with the 628CSi.

It was never sold new in the UK (base-model 633 at the time), but that

does not have to mean that they were not at some stage imported by

enthusiasts.

It is quite a rare car these days, as in total only 3972 examples of the type

were ever built
(2600 manual, 1372 aut - Karmann built ttl 1725 manuals and 897
automatics of this amount, the rest was built by BMW) , and most rusted
away unfortunately.

Even in its home-country Germany there are only about 130 examples

left. In Holland where I live only approx 20-30.

I happen to be the lucky owner of a very early Karmann built example

630CS 4 speed manual. It was built on June 30 1976.

I bought it from the first owner who only used it in Summer for

pleasure drives only.

He had the car in use untill 1998 and then kept it for another 3.

He then bought a new 850CSi which he uses for the same purpose.

It has currently only 53000 miles covered from new with full

maintenance history & original documentation with the car. It's unrestored and in very good original condition.

I just wonder if there are any 630CS cars in the UK, they can be

easely recognized as they must be left-hand drive.

If there are any owners out there, I would love to hear from you!
