What are the last 7 digits of your VIN/chassis number, please? If you can quote this, I can probably get you a parts reference number, and you can go to your nearest BMW dealer in Bucharest or wherever and order the window there....

I wish to contact BMW dealers only if i cannot find anything else, they are so expensive, maybe i find a used window somewhere.... Anyway ty and by the way, your bmw program, is there a possibility for me to have it ? Ty again.

Coincidence or what?

There is a 30% chance I will be going to Bucharest at the end of September.  With my job.

If the logistics of the following can be sorted, I will happily take this RH Door glass over.

(1) Getting the kit to me in South Wales.

(2) Sorting out payment, I would suggest US dollars or Sterling in cash....but I guess that's up to the seller of the glass.

(3) I would have to be met at the Hotel, probably the Marriot Bucharest.

I will have to take it as a gift, suitably wrapped, and by hand luggage.  It isn't too big for hand luggage is it?

Paul

I doubt you could get the glass on as hand luggage, without some
damage occuring. The pane of glass is big.
Still fast at 2Ltrs!! Undercover M3!!

I am in Bucharest 21st Sept to 24th.  Most likely at the Crown Plaza Hotel.  Just about every hotel is fully booked with important delegates for some European membership convention!!  Maybe Security at the airports will be higher as a result.  Therefore, size disregareded, I'm not sure they would allow a large piece of glass in the cabin. (Mmm it's no different to a wine bottle???)

So, if this glass fits in my suitcase, wrapped as a present.....it still maybe possible.

The man who owns the glass is in vacation for a couple of days and he'll return after 20 sept. so it's not possible for you to take it.... anyway i thank you very much. Enjoy your stay in Bucharest and if you'll visit someday the north of Romania don't hesitate to tell me, you have so much to see....  Cheers, Chif

Chif....

I got back late lst night from Bucharest.  We saw little of your Country as we worked 15 hour days, grinding out the wording for a possible contract.

One thing we did notice is the vast amount of beautiful women you have!!!!!!!!

And, I saw a few nice old 6 series BM's, in poor condition though.  Quite a few 3 series (Single headlight series 1 types) but again in poor condition.  So, there must be the possibility of Spare parts for your Six...even if you have to get to Bucharest.

Our hosts said we must come again, and go to the North of the country.  Like you said.

It was nice to be working with people with an attitude of "Everything is possible".  It's a pity that when you become EEC Members, that attitude will be stiffled by EEC red-tape.

I think "stuffed" would be a more appropriate word...

I think you are right Paul, but i'm sure we will manage with that like we always did and by the way, an UK "stuffed" with beautiful women and with the "everything is possible" attitude would be a good thing for you, but i'm quite sure it won't happen.... The wave has gone and everything is almost normal for all of us...
Cheers Chif

I think he meant the "wave of euphoria". Romania is now shaping up to be just like any other Euro nation. So, er, not much much change there, then.....
