Right then, Car was serviced Friday by P&R in Hayes &.... Can't praise them highly enough! Run by two BMW trained technicians (certificates on the wall) who actually take all the phonecalls & book the cars in etc. I explained to the bloke what was wrong & things I'd like checked & everything was done as asked for once! They phoned back when they said & spent 15 minutes going through everything with me on the phone half way through. Very impressed, This is my 1st BM, I'm used to working on VW's & dealing with Vw dealerships. This place makes everyone I've been to look bad. Car came back & instantly felt better, even adjusted the clutch pedal. Cost me £350 for full insp 2 with plugs, diff & gear oil change. Plus new rear pads, new control arm & new a/c & drive belts. Only downside was I have a badly buckled wheel Obviously this is only my opinion but I am very fussy about my cars & wouldn't take them anywhere I didnt like the look of etc. I would highly recommend P&R & will be using them again. They know the cars inside out & stick to the full BMW schedule. Thats about it really. Cheap, professional & excellent value for money IMO. What more do we want. Dean. |

You could also try PMW. The owner Pete is just round the corner from
Pinewood Studios (Uxbridge) His number is: 0044797 - 064 5599 He is very good, the last service on my car cost about £300 and that was an inspection II and he re shimmed the car as well. My car is a E30 320is with the 2.0L S14 engine so not cheap work. |

Car's booled in for Friday so I'll put a full write up when I get it back. I'll ask about a discount for club members. Is there anything else people local to the area want asked/information on? Dean. |

It would be interesting to know how you get on....perhaps you could ask them if they offer discounts for BMW Car Club members??
I need to get my inspection II done, awaiting your write up. |

Booked my car in with P&R for an inspection 2 service, £150 + vat. Very impressed after speaking to them on the phone. Seemed genuinely interested in my car & said if I wanted anything in particular checked out they would free of charge as I'm getting an insp 2 done. Dean. |

Dean, can't comment on either of the two speciallists since I'm up North but an inspection2 is the major service and should pick up any faults with the vehicle as it includes a full mechanical inspection, a diagnostic check and a test drive. However if you are aware of any problems with the vehicle you should let them know before hand so they can look out for potential causes. The only things not included are coolant change and brake fluid change. These should be done every two years according to BMW.

328i, Did you see this one. I have not tried these myself as I too would like to know of a recommended specialist since my last one left his location in Ruislip.
P and R I have managed to do most service work as now it would only consist of Oil, filter and sparks cos of the low mileage I am doing. I would like to have an inspection 2. |

I want to put my car in for a full health check as I wanna make sure everything is as it should be. Can't afford BMW prices so i'm looking for a good independant or specialist. I've found two during my searches in my area. One is Custom Service in Hayes & the other is Boxer motor works in Ashford. There is also Birds in uxbridge but the prices seem a bit high & think they are more for modified cars. Has anyone had any experience with these garages? They come highly recommended on many websites. Would an inspection 2 service cover everything & pick up any major faults? Dean. |
