   I was wondering if anybody could tell me what changes have been made to the M5 E39 from the time that it was first introduced in 1999.  I am looking to buy a second hand M5 around 3 years old and am wondering of there were early teething problems that were rectified in subsequent builds.  I have seen some details on forums re changes to the headlights - do all E39 M5's have Xenon headlights as standard and what changes have been made subsequently?  Finally, any thoughts about things to look for when buying privately?  Any info would be appreciated.
