Dunno, it was on the RAC car redg checker, I knew he bought the number, but that was the car listed.

They have mine listed as a dec 1988, which would make it an "F" redg, when infact its a june 88, and without my plate would be on an "E" redg.

Best Wishes

Nigel

The car is manual - sold my own earlier and will hopefully be putting down a deposit tomorrow.

Anyone know how easy it is to remove the wood trim from the interior ???

I know from when a bit of mine fell off, the glue is hell on earth to remove.

I love the wood trim, just taste eh ?

That colour was "metallic burgandy" on my original E34, or at least it looks the same from the picture.

If you want someone to drive it to Hollyhead for you....just let me know lol

Best Wishes

Can remember my dad putting a wooden gearknob on his E21 316 and hating it from that day - interior looks immaculate with the wood trim, but would feel too old man-ish for my liking Same goes for the chrome...will be out with my black trim paint asap!!

Once I recover from the well placed and deserved tax for such a lovely road systemthe VRT office want to give me I'll get the sports kit....

Behave...even if it is true !

Car is sitting in my driveway - fantastic machine, feel sorry for all the cows that died in order to cover the interior though

Strange thing is how the wood trim has grown on me over the past few days - as has the stock stereo, get the feeling that a Pioneer jobbie would just look out of place - anyone changed head units on the E46's??

Don't think so - am trying to get used to it now after spending the past year with the CRX. Don't particularly want to fork out on tyres yet either! Will probably consider it when I start changing a few bits next year...

Ken, I put a Sony MD head unit in my E46. No problems.

[QUOTE=kdevitt]- anyone changed head units on the E46's

The second I bought my car I replaced the stock head unit with a pioneer cd player with a multichanger in the boot, I can now custom the stereo sound to what I like and have added an amp and extra speaker in the boot etc much better than the stock unit

Yeah - I know a new head unit will sound much better - I import a bit of Pioneer stuff from Hong Kong. Just wondering if it looks out of place in the dash - the BMW unit matches the rest of the car perfectly, seems a bit of a shame to change it...

I have to say that the BMW Business stereo in the E39 which is pretty much the same as the E46 if Im not mistaken isn't half bad.

Yeah but when you put in the surround it doesn't look that much out of place and who wants to be a  'Conforming Norman'  and it lets you add that little bit of individuality to the interior of your car. I don't have any pic of the interior of my car to show you at the moment
