As far as I know it hasn't got an Alpina id plaque. 99.9% sure its just a rep from what I've read.

leave it as it is. Why go to the trouble of changing the badges even if it isn't a proper Alpina. It wouldn't bother me.

If the car was supplied by Sytners, and had the Alpina items you state then yes more than likely it would have had an Alpina wheel c/w centre badge and gear knob, it would have had a B2.8 badge on the back (possibly on the right), and the Alpina script on the opposite side to the B2.8 badge. However it would not have had Alpina circular bonnet and boot badges, they would be BMW std items. If these are fitted then they are non std items as Alpina never produced such an item!

My car was supplied by Sytners of Nottingham from new, so good chance they stuck al the bits on. If it is a B2.8 would it have the Alpina badge on the steering wheel? How hard is it to safely remove the bonnet & boot badges? The Alpina logo appears to be stuck on with glue rather than the usual foam adhesive tape so bit worried about trying to remove that for obvious reasons. How much are a new set on BMW badges, just bonnet & boot lid.

if it's a genuine B2.8 then keep the Alpina bits on, it's not a replica if it is a genuine B2.8 and was done at source at Sytners etc (the B2.8 etc didn't even go near Buchloe as these would have been UK cars only), so bear that in mind.
Keep them on IMO.

of course those built at Sytners in Nottingham also count as "proper" Alpina's

My personal opinion is that if it didn't come out of the Buchloe factory, it isn't an Alpina. I'd put OE badges on it.

Evenin all,

My cars an Alpina rep, basically its a B 2.8 because the engine hasn't been touched but its got all the alpina touches including sports suspension. I've had to buy a new set of wheels for it, Long story but it appears to be impossible to buy a single alpina rep alloy, took me 5 phonecalls & 3 days waiting for delivery to finally establish the shop (big bmw specialist) in question had no single Alipina wheels. Took my money quick enough though! Anyway the new wheels, also Alpina reps have BMW centre caps & look very nice. My misses has been on at me since we got the car to replace the alpina badges with BMW ones coz she doesn't like them. So just wanted peoples opinions really, shall I keep it a B 2.8 or put BMW badges on to make it like any other 328?

Dean.
