The 3 litre is £34k list. Then start adding toys. I specced one on bmw.co.uk and it came to £42,810 by the time I was finished!!

That all depends if you want to stand out or be part of the crowd I have had my Mystic Blue 3.0l sport with body kit for nearly a month now and it still draws looks everywhere i go. Even people who were dead against it have changed their opinions when faced with it in the flesh. In 12 months time when the second hand market has established they will be an even better buy.

Not knocking it matey .. its one of those each to their own things again I guess - saying that tho, all the X3's I've seen round here are all boring 'n' bog standard, so I suppose I need to be enlightened...sounds like you got a nice spec there tho, and in one of the nicer colours too, post some pictures and let me see what a real one looks like. My favourite colour is still Estoril Blue tho - God knows why I didnt wait for a clubsport to come along .... that'll learn me I guess!

Got very similar spec to Bryn, less the sat nav & leccy seats. In answer to your questions, the X3 is everything I wanted it to be, just have a problem not taking it out all the time. Got it 30th June and now at 5500 miles! It's reasonably quick, handles and is so roomy. What surprises people most is when they drive/passenger in the car. If you want to know, go to your stealer and test one, proof is in the pudding, speaking of which, test one back to back with an X5 - then let us know. If the body kit wasn't available tho - wouldn't have bothered, not into that tonka toy look at all. |

Estoril Blue is on the X5 list for '05.. I know cos I've ordered one.. X3's are okay but they lack the drama (and height) of the bigger X , which let's face it is why most of us buy one. I think in relation to the X5 the X3 is pricey without conveying the same level of quality. X3's styling doesn't do a lot for me while the new spec X5 looks like the old 4.6is.. in sport trim. I believe the X3 drives better but then it should given it's a car not a SUV (much in the same way as Subaru Forrester or Audo all-road). One thing I learned after buying my first SUV.. hierachy is dictated by height not speed and I found the dynamics of the X5 3.0D incredible for such a large beast. Have to say that I hope the X3's new sport wheels (19") come to the X5.. unless of course the Sport gets 20 inchers by 2005. I need the bling! |
