Hi,

Does anyone know where I could rent a new Mini for a day. Herself is mad about them and I wanted to rent one for her thirtieth birthday.

I've tried all the usual car hire places, and the local BMW dealer won't oblige.

I miss me beemer!

do none of the usual car hire places have one - would be a basic model though!

Tried all the usual suspects, but any that had them last year have dropped them this year as they're not commercially viable to rent.

Hi Guys,

You could try Hertz and Avis but it could cost an arm and a leg. A mate told me that he had someone over from the Uk and they were given a Mini. He had a drive in it and he said it was a cracker.

I used to work in car rental and Hertz maybe worth a call as they have a "Prestige" fleet in some of the larger locations. They had a lot of BMWs, from 316s to 740i. I even drove a 328i coupe once. Not a bad car to have as a rental...

Might be worth a try.

Yeah, If your serious about buying one would another dealer not "lend" you one for a day to try.

Im sure after they'd seen you a couple of times, their bound to know you mean business.

If you said it would be at his (or her) discretion when the said "lend" would take place, they shouldnt mind too much (should they??). After all a sales a sale - and dealership sales are falling of late.

Might have to wear ur best shirt and "whistle" tho and sweet talk the sales manager.

Try going in during the week (not at lunchtime and not at five to six), as they are less likely to be as busy, and will have more time to "care".
