E46 Design Fault?

When I open the boot (during or after rain) on E46, water gushes into the boot soaking it both sides!  Does anyone know if this a common design fault?

	Happens every time to me aswell. I remember reading about it on another site.It's a common design fault. So annoying isn't it?

	Thats because all E46's are highly polished and as a result the water runs of at such a speed that the area around the boot can't cope with the amount of water

	The wider you open the boot the more the water runs off it and into the boot. I sometimes find myself with the boot only half open and rooting around blindly looking for the umbrella or whatever! I'm sure it looks daft! Just open it slowly letting the water run off before opening it fully I find works best. Bit of a nuisance though alright - especially with the week that's in it! Wet leaves add a bit of excitement to the drive home from work though!!
