Can anyone give me the correct 'BMW Terminology' / Part Number for the frost plug - the round plug that pops out to stop the engine from cracking due from frost - I think!

I tried to explain it to the stealers and he told me I'd need the correct term for it - a lot of help he was!

Regards,

Rav

Hello Geoff

In the past as an Opel owner "core plug" was their term. I looked in my '02 catalogues Jaymic also uses "core plug" and from the German Walloth unt Nesch catalogue "Stopfen"

Hope this is of some help.

Are they the round things below the manifold - #18 in this pic?
based on http://rust.mine.nu/bmw

If so then it is described as
COVER LID (D=45MM) & part # 11111714712

Yeap #18 is exactly what I am looking for - sealing cover was the term that I was given, sorry for any confusion!
