Any ideas as to what can be used to clean up alloy wheels that are grimed up with what is probably brake pad dust.  Is there "T-Cut" for alloys in other words??? - To make them look shiny and new and all that...

Hi ya,

I suppose it depends in what condition your rims are under the grim.

I use a combination of Auto Glym Motorcycle cleaner and Engine cleaner. This works really well and of course does not contain any acids, which will peel off the coating on the rims in time.

Once clean I also wax the rims every 10th time or so. This makes it incredibly easy to clean them the next time.

On my Alpina rims I use Jif/Cif Kitchen Cleaner and a stiff paintbrush. Then an old Towel and some water.

A note of caution though, ask your mums permission to use the Cif.

Can't bring myself to call it that!  Then again, I still eat marathon and opal fruits.

Lots of options then.  Good-oh!  Tempted to nick some Jif from my mother as a cheap first option.  No, I'll ask her first...

Cleaning the wheels should keep me quiet for a while...

autoglym wheel cleaner, with kitchen sink nylon brush, spray on, work in the solution, wash off.

Finsih of with Hyper turismo wheel wax and you have the dogs b******s.

Use it all the time and they compliment each other beautifully.

Get the wife/girlfriend/boyfried/mum to clean them for you

they are good at getting their noses into areas their not wanted

leave it till the F1 / gp500 is on the box so you get no interuptions

you can pop out durin the adverts to shout encouragement and order a bacon sandwich for after the first round of pit stops........
