Mike

They're not in the country but they deliver and I've used them a few times.  Prices seem to be OK too.  There is good info, but it helps if you have a bit of an idea about what you want.

Prev:
e46 328i SE Touring, 330Ci, 318Ci.
e39 523i SE.
e36 325i Coupe *2, 323i SE, 316iSE.

Yeah, I bought one of the Sony CD autochangers with interface, and it was a sinch to install, as it was already wired for it.

The problem also with US headunits is the tuners they don't cover the same waveband lenghts as us here in Ireland/Europe and you would not be able to tune into the radio stations higher up the band, If importing from the US make sure that the seller puts it down as computer parts or else you will get hit for Duty Taxes etc

Pioneer headunits will tune into any station - US or Europe - you can set the steps it tunes into in the setup, the unit may not be RDS compatible though. You'll get it very cheap from eBay though.

Otherwise try celdirect.com - have found them very reliable and cheap in the past

Silly question, but how can you tell if you're car is pre-wired for the CD changer in the boot?
Have you any old autographs or tapes...

Now: E39 523i, Audi A6 Avant Quattro, E30 318i Cab
Then: E36 320i, E34 520i, E30 323i

Pull open the trim cover on the left hand side in the boot (this is where a changer usually sits) and have a look for any loose cable towards the wheelarch end.  It shoul dbe fairly obvious.

Obviously, if there is a CD changer in there, its probably been pre-wired!

E bay i reckon , probably the cheapest place but make sure you know what you are after and how much it should cost (normal RRP) , seen some stuff being sold at silly prices and people still they they have got a good deal as they have never checked out RRp's and get caught up in bidding, As for the tax get it marked as Gift and you won't have any problems at all, i buy a lot of stuff from the US and have never been charged for tax

I would suggest putting on fake glasses and a mustache, walking into a newsagent and picking up a copy of Maxpower.

Great mail order deals!!
