Can Anybody help?

My passenger door window goes down a tiny bit
when I pull the door handle ( in order to release the
top of the window from the seal)

MY problem is my drivers door doesn't do this, thus
meaning the top of the window does catch in the
seal - Where would I start in terms of sorting this
out?? Door card is off -I just can't work out what
does what?

I'd love to know this as well. Didn't realise that this was how it worked on the 6 series, but on my passenger door, the window stands proud of the seal when the door is shut, and has to be pressed shut, or the window manually lowered and then raised when the door is shut.

Excellent.  It's not just me, then.

I'd be interested to hear if there's a solution.  BMW's solution, at least in the E46 is to open the window a fraction with the door handle operation and close it with the door closing.  I do that too, just manually.  I saw an alarm system that could be programmed to do the same thing, but I've got so much more to spend my money on.

Mine has the same problem. I have to slam the passenger door by pushing the window rather than the door, which can't do the mechanism any good. I spoke to another 6 owner at a meet (the guy who owns the restored metalic green 633 Hallmark - can't remember his name) and the solution is to carefully adjust the mechanism inside the door. He said it's really fiddly and took hours to get it just right.

I've adjusted the glass on my drivers door once before. It took about an hour of fiddling and its lasted about a year and needs doing again!

Your mission, should you wish to accept it, is:

1. Find a nice front valance for a 628CSi;

2. Then find a nice Alpina front spoiler, which fixes to the 628's valance.

NOTE: Part 2 is more difficult than Part 1....
