My central locking is operative from the alarm keypad, this seems to be working fine as the car unlocks and locks when pressed. Problem is that the central locking is deadlocking itself once the car is started. It's almost like an anti-hijack device fitted to some alarms that automatically induces once the car is started. I've heard of the central locking refusing to lock the doors but not locking. A half opening of the door handle from inside the car releases the deadlock but only for a second or two before it locks itself again. I can picture the keys being locked inside the car whilst started.......Help would be much appreciated.
Thanks, Andy. |

what kind of alarm is it? It could be a setting with the alarm. (have you still got the manual?)

The problem will be located in the 'A' door pillar where there is a multi-pin connector. Open the drivers door and look just above the interior light switch located on the pillar. You will see a rubber protective sleeve coming from the door going into the pillar. Pull the rubber back and you will see the multi pin connector which goes through into the drivers footwell. You will need to gain access into the drivers footwell, remove the kick panel and speaker, lift out the central locking control (cigarette sized type of relay/box) and then you can gain access to the back end of the multi pin connector. These pull apart with the male pins on the door well side and the female on the drivers door side, you will no doubt find some of them corroded. You will need to obtain new pins and cut off the old corroded one, resolder onto wire and replace, do this for all suspect pins. Have more information if you need .........
