I am looking itno purchasing a BMW 740i on  a 1996 (P) plate or newer. What are the potential problems or faults that I should be aware of and check when purchasing and looking for my 740i.

shouldn't be a Nikasil problem as they solved this with the newer 4.4 litre engine IIRC.

I looked for an older M reg model with the 4 litre engine, some were dog rough with rocket miles, another was a pearler, but no log book.

I trawled the autotrader website for ages.

There is a forum dedicated to the 7 but I can't remember the addy.
