 Topic: Tyre Recommendations Please

Hello All. I am a new member and would appreciate some advice.
I need to replace the tyres on my E36 323 I . I have looked at Bridgestone Er 30, Dunlop Sport 01 and Michelin Pilot Primacy.
My problem is that each tyre fitter I talk to give me a different recommendation !.
All advice appreciated

On my last car an E36 318is I had Eagle F1's and when I traded it in for my current car the next owner rang me enquiring about where I got the F1's as he thought they were fantastic in the wet and dry also

hi willm,i too have an e36 323i coupe.i cant comment on any of the three brands you mentioned above as i hav'nt used them.i can recomend goodyear eagle nct gsd3's though.plenty of grip in wet or dry,the down side being only approx 8k miles from rears,twice that or more from fronts though.as a matter of interest have you any probs. with uneven ware on your rears?has your car got standard or lowered suspention?the reason i ask is that mine is lowered on shortened stiffer shocks and springs and the guy who set the tracking two months ago reckoned this might make it difficult to track properly.now i have even ware all around apart from the pass. side rear which is wearing heavily on the inside.i reacken he was just incompetent!

hi techno violet. my car has standard suspension and i have not any problems with uneven wear. its a 99 323 i touring. at that time the new model had launched but the touring was still e 36

I agree with the Good Year F1 tyres. I got mine (front) from Advance in Santry (on the corner near the M1 interchange). I like them quite a lot and paid about €160 each (17" rims). I think my rears which are due now will set me back about €190

Willm, all the tyres you mention are good general touring tyres. I'm putting the ER30 in our Alhambra. If you drive your car hard you might want to consider a more performance orientated tyre, like the F1's, the Dunlop SP9000 or the Bridgestone Potenza S03. Toyo Proxes are good value too if you can find them.

I have experience of both the b/stone so3 and the g/year f1's.
I have found the f1's to be a better tyre that than the so3's and have just fitted 4 new f1's on my m3.

Wilm,
I'm getting new tyres today and have gone for the Dunlop SP9000s. I turned down the Goodyear F1s because I think they will wear too quickly and I don't fancy changing the tyres again in about 7k miles.
If you give Dave McCann Tyres a buzz (number on the contacts page) have a good range and seem to have the best prices around.

i had F1s on a few of my cars always loved them,but for some reason dont like them on my bmw!ive heard Toyo have a new tyre out thats spose to be the dogs dangly bits
