Hows about a meet up in north Essex, ie somwhere like Dedham, nice place, a couple of classy, but not too expensive places to eat, good scenery etc where there's a free car park, and is quite a pleasant village to walk round too.

Ozzy,
If you want to run a more gentle and ambulatory cruise, that's fine -- go ahead! My cruises tend to be based on nice twisty roads with a minimum of traffic -- the emphasis is on enjoying your car. But I know from personal experience that different people want different things from cruises, and the more the merrier, I say!

OK, well I should have the 6er ready (apart from the bodywork) by the 20th, and I do have some routes that I know for previous cruises, and if that works for everyone, then I'm happy to organise it.
Let me know.

I suppose the next question is: "what kind of event do you want?"
When I do cruises for the Z Register, it tends to take the following format:
1. Meet up
2. Drive round for a bit
3. Have lunch
4. Drive round some more
5. Stop and say goodbye
6. Scarper
Other Z Register organisers tend to have stops at scenic locations to take photos or amble around. However, my neck of the woods is refreshingly free of such distractions.
But the cruise / event might take a totally different form. Any ideas?

When I get either my 6er or my 3er sorted, I'll arrange one of my gentle countryside bimbles for those who might be interested.

I'd personally prefer somewhere a bit further north. Generally, for the Z-register runs, I start off at a services or a pub. There is a BP/McD services at the junction of the A14 and the A1 that works well for me.
Kind of depends on the point of the event, I guess. |
