Hello everyone,

When fitting a CD player to my 318is, I could not find any sign of wiring to the rear speakers. Only the front set were working when I bought the car, and whilst the speaker grilles are on the rear parcel shelf and the pods underneath, I have not yet had time to check if there are actually speakers fitted inside the pods. Is it possible that there are no rear speakers fitted?

Any help appreciated

Best Wishes

Bob

I'd imagine there are speakers inside - the original speakers were Nokia items, and they're pathetic! Theres only a tiny bit of speaker cable going into them, so you won't see it unless you remove the pods. The speaker itself is tiny as well.

I'd recommend you get a adaptor plate from caraudiodirect.com or someone similar and fit a decent set of 6x9's

Thank you for the info!

The front speakers don't look much either, but they sound ok! I am surprised I could not find any sign of wiring in the dashboard though!

Many Thanks

Bob

No bother!! My local ICE centre weren't aware of it either - he used to make his own adaptors for the E36 cars - he had me sit down at his computer and order 5 sets one day!!

Try BMHeaven.co.uk - the site is basic, but phone up - the guy is the most helpful I've ever been in contact with!!
