There are many reasons why Rockingham was dropped. What do you do there if it rains? They don't have a suitably big area to work in. The E30 Bash was a great event, but that is about as big as it can happily cope with. Gaydon can take twice as many, and that may be too small for this year. We have looked for altenative venues for the last few years but none on balance are better than Gaydon. In adition the Gaydon people are very helpful.

That's how I see it, having been one of the greatest grumblers about Gaydon for years.

it is a shame, I'll have to think of a new one now! But, I can attest to the strength of the car, as when I saw the remains IN THE TREE, and how much damage there was, and how it finally came to rest, I was glad to see my wife standing there un-scathed apart from a scratched knuckle. When the recovery truck arrived to collect the car, all 4 doors and the boot opened. Wouldn't shut again, but the cabin was complete and undamaged.

Shame about your 'tag' - "an M3's for life, and not just for trackdays......." 'course it obviously wasn't!

Thanks for asking & yep, all OK (apart from the car!)
Will the Rockingham meet be a mainly M power item? Or another large bash to compliment the Gaydon event?

Has the date of the 21st Aug been agreed in principle for this years Gaydon Bash (or is it still open for confirmation)? I thought there was to be the big one at Rockingham, has this idea been shelved?

Unfortunatley, in a way yes. The M3 got written off in late Nov 04! It was involved in a bad accident with my wife driving, so I am without an M3 at the moment. Hopefully this situation will remedy itself in the spring though!
