I thought the 'is' came with lsd as standard.
..maybe not then.

LSD was certainly a option on the E30 318is, i assume the same on the E36.

Depends if yours is a 1.8 or 1.9 iS, automatic or manual, etc. Ring the dealer and ask..

Alternatively, take your existing diff apart and weld it up

if you want an lsd don't weld one up thinking you're getting the same thing...

a locked diff is not the same as an lsd....

just don't want you going down a blind alley.....

Just got off the phone with bexley motorworks and they think it should have LSD as standard.

The simple check is:

Jack up the back end

Spin a wheel

If the opposite wheel spins in the same direction the it has LSD...if it spins in the opposite direction then its doesn't have LSD.

I'm gonna check mine when i get back to the garage

I did say that tongue in cheek... It didn't mean it literally

I would have thought that any E36 diff would fit. Go for a higher geared one then when you add the supercharger you will get the benefit of having increased the gearing as well.
