Please can anyone help me?. I have a 93 320i coupe, i bought it about 4 months ago from a genuinely decent bloke!. I went out in the car and there was a whining noise on accelerating, i questioned it and he says its always done it. The car drives superb except when sometimes usually when cold, if i floor it, it will not climb above around 3000rpm then kangaroos then bursts. This lasts for about 2 miles then its fine. But this whining noise is driving me mad!!!!. Even if the car is not in gear and i rev it, it just whines!!!, please HELP!! I would take it to the garage but i live in the sticks and the mechanic can basically only fix lawn mowers PANTS ! help.

Sounds like a belt to me belt lube might fix it or change the suspicious belt.

i have to agree it most likely to be a belt problem you have .its just a case of trying to find the belt in question ....

if you finding it hard to find the whinning belt ..just give the whinning missis a belt instead ...should you want to let out any frustration

its a dogs world out there
