As I said. If anyone was considering the bentley manual as a reference repairthey should only consider it if they have the six cylinder engine.

As I suggested earlier, contact John Drake, give the bloke a chance, he supports the club, so no harm in us supporting him.
I'm sure he will do his best to price match, and he does tend to know whats around for what models.

Hi, Chris. Last time I priced one it was mail order from the States only. By the time you added postage £50 was the going rate.
I've got a Chilton's E30 manual I bought in the bookshop in Morpeth. I think I paid about £10 and that's about £7.50 more than it's worth!

Haynes for the E30 is just a generic 3 & 5 series manual, but you can buy them new for £12 or s/h for a fiver. The Bentley is US only so excludes the M40 engeine and cost about £50. Best buy of all is the TIS and ETK on CD for about a fiver on ebay.

You can always speak to John Drake, he is the club bookman, details in the mag, I dont actually have them to hand at the moment.
He will be able to advise what is available for your car etc.

I have seen in some forum topics about how superior the Bentley repair manual is to the haynes for the e30. When looking at the cover I noticed it covers the 1.8i 2.0i and up but not the 1.6i. I thought this strange but then guessed that the 1.6i was not available in the states. Then I rembered that the states models did not use the M40 engine, someone in this forum told me I think, so for e30 1.6 and 1.8 owners this manual would not cover their engine.
