Anyone know anywhere decent to buy tyres around Dublin(or sligo as I down visiting family enough) for tyres?  Im willing to go into the North Newry area if needed,  Got a quote from the place on Blakes cross in Lusk but seems a tad pricey although they were quality brands

Also forgot to add, whats the legal minimum tread level in Ireland?

legal limit is 1.6mm but anything below 2mm and the cars grip/handling is like Sh**e especially in the winter

What sizes are you looking for, for bigger sizes 18's and 19's i found that Mail order was by far the cheapest...... I used http://www.falkens.co.uk/asp/default.asp but also have a look at http://www.blackcircles.com/ and http://www.mytyres.co.uk/ they all do delivery and th prices for me anyway were about £40 a tyre cheaper then anywhere in N.Ireland.

Cheers

Phil

Anyone used eiretyres before? Does their cost include fitting at their recommended fitting centre? How much do es it cost to get a tyre fitted?

mytyres.co.uk is the uk version of the eiretyres.com site. They simply post the tyres to you for the listed price. You need to get someone to fit them. There is a link on the right hand side of the main page where you can search for someone close to you who will do it (usually 10yoyos per corner)

I have used eiretyres 3 times now. The cost includes VAT and delivery but not fitting.   They will recommend who to use but I prefer a local guy I know and trust as opposed to someone who will just feck me 17"s all around the place and put a trolley jack through the floor of the car.

eirretyres are the cheapest I could find and believe me I looked! their downside is that delivery can take a couple of days longer than the date they give you but I can live with that.

I am in Belfast man, if its cheaper to buy them in Sterling feel free to get them delivered to me and come up and get them, or i am down galway direction in a couple of weeks and could drop them down if needed, I got charged £25 to get them fitted and balanced.

Cheers

Where are you eamo? might be worth going to a guy who is recommended to fit them.  Is there a diference in the prices between mytyres and eiretyres?

I know that, but some places that have euro and sterling websites still charge more in euros (play.com for example)
