If you want to contribute to the making of the Club DVD being organised by Stephen Perry, myself and associates then please PM Stephen or myself for details or keep an eye on the running thread.

http://www.bmwcarclubforum.co.uk/forum_posts.asp?TID=12409&a mp;a mp;a mp;PN=1

Alternatively you can also approach us with any ideas for the DVD at any of the club gatherings.

Footage will be taken from all club activities and we hope to cover as many mbrs' cars as possible. The film will be shown in unedited form at the November AGM. An edited version, which will focus on the cars, road trips, track days and with additonal features such as car profiles and 'crazy stuff' will be edited by Stephen, with soundtrack kindly provided by Martin.

Thanks to everyone who takes part.

Jon Beckett

I've also set up this:

http://www.4to60.com/mod.php?mod=userpage&menu=23&pa ge_id=39&PHPSESSID=ddb25ac0df6c39b186aa3fcde0048e58

Has only been live for 4 days and already I have signed:

911 Ruf

TVR Chimera 4.5 (Estoril Blue)

Mk1 Exige

All tuned and modified, all sub 5 seconds to 60. Should make for some interesting additional footage form within the cabin of M 8LUR. I've also got a friend who's runnign a GSX-R 600 to run ahead as the hare with a sticky pod cam mounted on the rear. Aim is to invite up to 20 mbrs initially with mornign raids of between 6-12 cars a few times each year with possible track days etc on top of that.

Stephen - I'll forward as soon as footage becomes available. I'll likely speak to you about running a second DVD project in tandem with this one as I'll appreciate BMW club members may not want to see footage of non-BMWs, although I'm sure a little as to how 8LUR does in such company may hold some curiosity.

excellent idea Jon, i love fast cars of any make and model - do you need a cameraman to ride shotgun in any of them?  (always worth a try lol)

thank you for the car dvds you sent me, ive been watching them this evening - some really good ones in there, the ss-r one is very well done, ive been downloading some more of that black lexus from his site, i like the idea of multiple cameras, ill have a go at the weekend with having a camera inside and one on the rear shelf, and have another look at mounting the webcam on the front bumper

nice little website btw, 4to60.com

just reading up on the latest modifications to your car and this caught my eye:

0-60 = 4.7 seconds
0-100 = 11 seconds
0-124 = 14 seconds
Quarter mile: 13 seconds (terminal unknown)

that must be some wild ride, i'd love to get a passenger seat for some footage (okay, ill be honest, i want to see what a really fast car is like )

No problem Stephen, happy to have you along as my wing man.. Keep an eye on the site and I'll let you know details closer to the time. Right now I'm dedicated to adding mbrs.

I also bought Getaway in Stockholm 4 last w/e and it's superb with lots of beemers in attendance.

Those stats made possible by the new diff but I'll try to confirm proper times etc as soon as I get my G-meter properly calibrated.

8LUR was timed to 60 in 5.1 before the conversion and that was after going sideways in first up to 50 (with pax on board) so with better traction (Nitto R555 Super Drags + launch control) and a lower ratio then 4.7 is very realistic. 0-100 has always been quick but will again sharpen up a bit with the lower ratio. Charles Wan in HK always said the lower ratio to be like adding 30bhp/30lbft onto the Zee.

PM me & I'll let you know more about 4to60.com.

BR,

Jon

Interestingly CAR magazine timed a stock S50 MCoupe to 4.7 years ago but both mags and manufacturers allow a roll-up on those times (usually 8-12"). The Coupe loses less traction as there is virtually zero flex off the line.. very rigid cars the Coupes.

I allow only 2-5" for the G-Meter so it doesn't go off premature purely from the engine pick-up and instead counts once the car properly moves off the line.

I'll let Stephen (as Ed) explain in more detail but the aim to is create a fairly polished DVD of club antics over the year. A 2005 club review if you will but the aim is to make it fast moving like the Teckademics Mischief/Gumball type DVDs. There may be different versions and one wil be shown at the club AGM in November. Martin has provided some excellent tunes and the aim is to allow everyone to contribute as much footage as poss and then let the Ed team trim it down into something that would be appealing to not just club members but also a wider audience.

Tracks days, drag, RR days, road trips.. focussing on the cars as much as poss and I know Stephen aims to profile half a dozen or so of the most interesting models. I know Stephen has plenty of ideas so I'll let him lay it out.

Bagsey me the casting couch

I think Jon has pretty much summed it all up, we are always on the hunt for more footage, hence the camcorder and tripod last saturday, better to have too much filming than too little so we can discuss what bits to keep and what bits to junk

Everyone has different ideas on what a club film should contain, some want club meetings, some want adrenalin-fuelled road and track action, i hope we strike a happy medium, but if not, there will be two versions, we are aiming for something exciting rather than monotonous and samey, and on that note, don't be shy, send your camcorder tapes and discs to me (pm for address), you'll be credited in the film, and if you think you have or know of a bee-em thats "a bit special" please pm me the spec and it might end up with a starring role! (numberplates will be obscured on request)

Will do Stephen but it really was only a trial run and footage isn't exactly mind blowing. Will burn a CD and send up.
