Did you build a tractor on Scrapheap Challenge last year with a Rolls Royce engine in it?

I think they use two diffrent types of oil Thicker one for erlyer type
gas it also protects the seals, We do air con at work so I thought best
to get it dun. Geting trained up soon,
but you should have the air con re-gased 1 or 2 years as it leakes out
over time and the oil dosent protect the insides aney more. If
the air con don't work youl need to presher test it ferst, they fill it
up with some sort of gas and see if there are aney leaks, should
hould same presher for about twnty minits.

It depends on whether the compressor has mineral oil in it. If it does then the R134a reacts with it and forms an acid that eats away the seals.
I think that's what my mate Little Phil told me, he's a fridge butcher.

thats right philip, r12 is not allowed, but you can still get it. on the side. if you use r134 i think you have to have the aircon seals upgraded etc.

are they allowed to use R12 these days? I thought R134 had taken over. kinder to the environment.

mark, is that gearbox sorted yet, its ok being cool, but its not that cool if car dosent move.. mark what type of gas are they topping your car up with, r12 or helium, using helium will make you talk funny when your driving along though. it will also give your car a bit of a lift as well good stuff.

I guess that if today's gassing up for Mark was successful we'll not hear from him for a while until he's thawed out from driving home with his AC on. Unless, of course, he's well hard and can take the presher.

surely a 735i SE would have either A/C or fully automatic climate control as standard.
this would be factory fitted, not some after market kit.
I'm not sure of the spec of an '82 but later 735i SE cars definitely had climate control as std fit.
