Hi all,
What should the part number be for the airflow meter on my 1981 Series 1 635 CSi? Thanks in advance! |

I think it should be 0 280 203... 008 or 013 but someone with an ETK (there are online ones eg at www.realoem.com) and your VIN number would be able to confirm this. cheers

doesn't a later type AFM fit? If it does, I'll have a spare knocking about, say from a 84 car!

That would be lovely -- but does anyone know if it fits? |

The mountings are different I think. On the 'L-jet' the braket is on the side of the unit, and on the motronic version the bracket is on the side that would be the top in the l-jet version. Also, I don't know what difference there is inside the things. Spokey, If you want to test yours, you can do an electrical test with a multimeter. A mechanical test is a bit more involved but I have figured out a way of doing it with nothing more complex than a small bag of 5p coins and a piece of string (honest!). Cheers

Thanks, but I am completely mechanically impaired. I really just want to know if the AFM I have is the correct one. The car starts and runs OK, but has an occasional misfire when the engine has warmed up, and the indy told me on the last AFM that the AFM was at fault. Now, if it's completely the wrong part, then I just need to bite the bullet and buy a new one, but I don't want to fork out £250 just on the off chance. Edited by spokey |
